Materials

  • Thin cotton yarn: 2 colours: rose, beige

Tools:

  • Scissors (if using more than 2 colours)
  • Crochet hook of 3 mm
  • Stitch marker

An initial frame of chains + 1st pattern

Use the 1st colour (C1): rose. Start with a slip knot and work 26 chs. Place the stitch marker in the last ch.

R1: 4 chs, 1 tr tr (triple treble crochet: sk 3 chs from the stitch marker, yarn around the crochet 4 times, st in the 4th ch from the stitch marker, close each 2 st on the crochet), 1 tr tr in next 2 chs each, 3 chs, sk 3 chs from the frame, *1 tr tr in each ch from the frame* rep. 3 times, 3 chs, repeat until 1 ch from the frame left, 1 trc (2 yo, close each 2), place stitch marker here. Use the 2nd colour (C2): beige. Start with a slip knot. Find the place where the stitch marker was placed before and start from there and going opposite direction – down.

R2: *1 sl st in 1 ch* rep. 4 times, 1 sl st in each tr tr st, 1 sl st, *1 tr tr, 1 sl st* rep. 2 times, 1 tr tr, 1 sl st in each tr tr st, 1 sl st, st in next free 3 chs from the frame, 1 sl st in each tr tr st, 1 sl st, st in next free 3 chs from the frame, continue the pattern 4 times in total. Turn the work over. Use C2. Place stitch marker in the C2 yarn next to the previous st. continue R3 with C1.

R3: 4 chs, *sk group of 3 tr tr of C2, work 3 tr tr BLO – one in each tr tr of the same colour from R2, 3 chs* rep. 4 times, 1 trc. (36)

Place the stitch marker in your last st. Start where you started R3. Start with C2.

R4: Work 4 st st one in each ch of C1. Work 3 sl st one in each tr tr of C2, *1 sl st, 1 tr tr in each tr tr of the group C2 from R2, 1 sl st* rep. 3 times BLO, continue the pattern 4 times in total, 1 sl st. (48)

2nd pattern

Turn the work over. Place the stitch marker in the last st. Use C1.
