An amazing crochet stitch to make cardigans and sweaters, tablecloths, blankets and dresses.

This time we are presenting you another multi-functional crochet stitch. It can have as many uses and you wish. I like it as sweaters and scarfs. It will go nicely also for the table decoration or even big works, as a blanket.

Here is how to make it!

Designed by Norma y sus tejidos.

Materials:

  • a crochet of 3.5 mm
  • a pink o rany other colour yarn of the size that fits aur crochet
  • a stitch marker

Stithes used:

  • a slip stitch – sl st
  • a chain(s) – ch(s)
  • a double crochet – dc
  • a single crochet – sc
  • a yarn over – yo

R1: Start with a sl st. Make 28 chs – place a stitch marker in the 28th ch and make 4 more chs. Work 1 dc in the 27th ch, make 2 yo, work 1 dc, make 2 yo, work 1 dc. Make 3 chs. Skip 2 chs from the base and work 1 sc in the 3rd ch. Work 1 sc in the next ch.

Make 3 chs. Make 2 yo and work 1 dc in the 3rd ch from the base. Make 2 yo and work 1 dc in the next ch from the base. Make 3 chs. Work 1 sc in the 3rd ch. Work 1 sc in the next ch.

Make 3 chs and 2 yo and work 1 dc in the 3rd ch from the base. Make 2 yo and work 1 dc in the next ch from the base. Make 3 chs. Skip 2 chs from the base and work 1 sc in the 3rd ch. Work 1 sc in the next ch.

If you want to make a sleeveless blouse or a scarf, keep groups of dc on the sides:

You will be multiplying the same pattern until having the size that you wish. In that case you must release the last chs to continue the work. You can work groups of 2 or 3 dc, depending what do you prefer.

R2: Turn the work over. Work 1 sc in one dc from the base. Work 1 sc in the next dc. Work 1 sc in the next dc. Make 3 chs and make 2 yo and work 1 dc in the sc from the base. Make 2 yo and work 1 dc in the next sc. Make 3 chs. *Work 1 sc in the dc from the base* rep. for each dc (2 sc in total).
