Maple Leaf Free Crochet Pattern and Tutorial

This exciting crochet project comes from one of the most popular women’s duets, Esperanza y Ana Celia Rosas. Today, this accomplished team will teach you a pretty easy and spectacular Maple Leaf. Below is the transcription, but you need to follow the tutorial to understand how it works.

Materials

• Thin cotton yarn: blue

Tools:

• Straight needle
• Scissors
• Crochet hook of 2.5 mm
• Stitch marker

Stitches used:

• Ch st
• Sc

The central part

Work 15 chs starting with a slip knot.

R1: 1 sc in each ch to complete 14 sc, 3 sc in the 15th ch. – place a stitch marker in the middle sc out of 3, 11 sc. (25)

R2: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in each ch BLO, remove stitch marker and work 3 sc, place a stitch marker in the middle one, *1 sc in 1 sc BLO* rep. 11 times, sk 3 last chs. (50)

R3: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in each ch BLO, remove stitch marker and work 3 sc, place a stitch marker in the middle one, *1 sc in 1 sc BLO* rep. 11 times, sk 3 last chs. (75)

Middle part

R1: 1 ch, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 6 times, sk 5 sc from the stitch marker. (6)

R2: Turn the work over, *1 ch, 1 sc in 1 ch from R1* rep. 6 times, 3 chs. (12)

R3: Turn the work over, *1 sc in 1 ch* rep. 3 times, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 6 times BLO, 1 sl st in the 1st ch skipped in R1. (21)

R4: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in 1 sl st, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 9 times BLO, 3 chs. (30)

R5: Turn the work over, 1 ch, *1 sc in 1 ch* rep. 3 times, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 6 times BLO, 2 sl st in the 2nd ch skipped in R1. (39)

The small part

R1: 1 ch starting from R1 of the middle part, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 4 times BLO, sk 5 chs from the stitch marker. (4)

R2: Turn the work over, 1 ch, *1 sc in 1 ch* rep. 4 times, 3 chs. (8)

R3: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in each of 3 chs, *1 sc in 1 sc from R2* rep. 4 times BLO, 1 sl st in the 1st sc left in R1. (12)

R4: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in 1 sl st, *1sc in 1 sc* rep. 6 times BLO, 3 chs. (18)

R5: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in each of the 3 chs, *1sc in 1 sc* rep. 6 times BLO, 1 sl st in 2nd and in 3rd skipped ch in R1. (24)

R6: Turn the work over, 1 ch, 1 sc in each of 2 sl st, *1 sc in 1 sc* rep. 5 times BLO, sk 6 chs. (29)

Remove the stitch marker, 1 sc in that st, place there a stitch marker again. Work *1 sl st in 1 sc from the central part* rep. 11 times.

Repeat all the steps to make middle part, and then small part in the same way as previously.

Remove the stitch marker, 1 sl st in that st.

The stam

R1: 8 chs, 1ch, *1 sl st in 1 ch* rep. 8 times, 2nd sl st in the last ch. (16)

Hide the yarn using the needle.
