Filet is a very beautiful and delicate technique that can be used for baby blankets, as well as bigger works. It allows the creation of soft and lacy crochet patterns of your choice. You can make shapes – hearts, stars – or simple geometric patterns.

The heart shape would look very nice on the blanket for a girl. Animal and geometric patterns will be a great choice if you don’t know the baby’s gender yet. The effect is best if you choose soft materials and bright colors.

Every baby will look like a little angel on that blanket! Be sure to choose the best yarn for a crochet blanket. Take a look at the examples below and search for links to free patterns under the pictures.
