Little Bunnies Wearing Dresses Free Crochet Pattern + Tutorial

Today we will show you how to make crochet bunnies. The bunnies are super cute and easy to crochet! You can make them as a gift for someone special – they are also saved for children!

Materials:
- a crochet hook of 2.5 mm
- a cotton yarn for 3 mm
- a synthetic filling
- an eye shadow for painting
- the eyes
Stitches used:
- a Magic Ring – MR
- a single crochet – sc
- a chain(s) – ch(s)
- a slip stitch – sl st
- a double crochet – dc
- a half double crochet – hdc
The head
R1-5: Start with a MR of 6 sc and make increases (6 sc + 6 increases).* Work 1 sc and 1 increase* rep. 6 times. *Work 2 sc and 1 increase* rep. 6 times. Continue until having 4 sc + an increase six times (36 stitches in the last Round).
R6-11: Work 6 Rounds of 36 sc without increasing or decreasing (216 sc in total without stopping).
Place the eyes between the 10th and the 11th Round from the top. There will be 5 sc in between both eyes.
R12-16: Now we will start decreasing. *Work 4 sc and 1 decrease* rep. 6 times. *Work 3 sc an 1 decrease* rep. 6 times. Continue until having 1 sc and 1 increase six times.
Remember to fill the head with your synthetic filling. See below how much filling is required:
The body
There are 2 sc on the edge of the head (from the previous Round).
R1: *Work 2 sc and 1 decrease* rep. until completing the round (3 decreases, 9 stitches).
R2: *Work 2 sc and 1 increase* rep. until completing the round (3 increases, 12 stitches).
R3: *Work 3 sc and 1 increase* rep. until completing the round (3 increases, 15 stitches).
R4: *Work 4 sc and 1 increase* rep. 3 times until completing the round (3 increases, 18 stitches).
R5: Work 18 sc without decreasing or increasing. Remember to add the synthetic filling.
Now we will be decreasing.
R6: *Work 4 sc and 1 decrease* rep. 3 times.
R7: *Work 3 sc and 1 decrease* rep. 3 times.
R8: Work 6 decreases. Close the body.
The hands
R1: Start with a MR of 6 stitches.
R2: Work 1 increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch from the base. Work an increase in the next stitch. Work 1 sc in the last stitch (6 sc in total).
R3: Work 1 increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch from the base. Work another sc in the next stitch. Work an increase in the next stitch. Work 1 sc in the last stitch. Work another sc in the next stitch (8 sc in total).
R4: Work 1 sc in the 1st stitch from the base. *Work 1 sc in the next stitch* rep. until having 8 sc in total.
Now we will start decreasing.
R5: *Work 1 sc in the 1st stitch from the base. Work another sc in the next stitch. Work a decrease in the next stitch* rep. until finishing the round (6 sc in total). Cut the yarn (leave it long so that you can stitch the hand to the body).

The legs
R1: Start with a MR of 6 stitches.
R2: Work 1 increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch from the base. Work an increase in the next stitch. Work 1 sc in the next stitch. Work an increase in the next stitch. Work 1 sc in the last stitch (9 sc in total).
R3: Work 1 sc in the 1st stitch from the base. *Work 1 sc in the next stitch from the base* rep. until having 18 sc in total.
Now we will be decreasing.
R4: Work 1 decrease in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch. *Work a decrease in the next stitch and make 1 sc in the next stitch* rep. one more time.
Cut the yarn (leave it long so that you can stitch the leg to the body).
The ears
R1: Start with a MR of 6 stitches.
R2: Work 1 increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch from the base. *Work an increase in the next stitch and make 1 sc in the next stitch* rep. one more time (9 sc in total).
R3: Work an increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch. Work one more sc in the next stitch. *Work an increase in the next stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch and make one more sc in the next stitch* rep. one more time.
R4-6: Work 3 Rounds by 12 sc (36 sc in total).
R7: Work an increase in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch. Work one more sc in the next stitch. *Work a decrease in the next stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch and make one more sc in the next stitch* rep. one more time (9 stitches in that Round).
R8: Work 1 sc in the 1st stitch from the base. *Work 1 sc in the next stitch* rep. until having 9 sc in total.
R9: Work a decrease in the 1st stitch from the base. Work 1 sc in the next stitch. *Work 1 increase in the next stitch and 1 sc in the following stitch* rep. one more time.
Cut the yarn (leave it long so that you can stitch the ear to the body).
The finishing
Now it’s time to attach hands, legs and ears to the body and to make a nose.
Next step is to paint our bunny:
The dress
R1: Make 17 chs. Work 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. Work 1 more sc in the next ch. Make 4 chs. Work 1 sc in the 5th ch from the base. *Work another sc in the next ch from the base* rep. to have 4 sc in total. Make 4 chs. Work 1 sc in the 5th ch from the base. Work another sc in the next ch.
R2: Fold the work and join both parts with a sl st and make 3 chs (that will represent 1 dc). Work another dc in the same stitch to make an increase dc. Keep working increases in each stitch from the base till the end of the Round. Close it with a sl st and make 4 chs.
R3: Work 1 dc in each stitch from the base and close the Round with a sl st. Make 2 chs.
R4: Work 1 hdc in each stitch from the base and close the Round with a sl st. Cut the yarn.
Put the dress on the bunny from down.
The work is done! The bunny is ready!
