How to Easily Crochet Flower Border in 5 minutes

The free pattern is to end blankets or bags. You can use one or two colours. Super easy and beginners friendly stitch should help everybody need a fast and effective edging idea.

Materials:

  • a yarn of two colours
  • a crochet needle
  • scissors

Stitches used:

  • a chain(s) – ch(s)
  • a single crochet – sc
  • a slip stitch – sl st

The base

R0: Work multiply of 3 chs + 1 ch. There will be 31 chs in total.

R1: Work 31 sc (starting in the 2nd ch from the base). Make 1 ch.

R2: Turn the work over and work a sc. Make 4 chs.

 

 

The flowers

R3: Take the other colour yarn to make a flower. Introduce the yarn and attach it with a sl st. Make 3 chs. Make a sl st in the 4th stitch from the hook (the last stitch of the previous colour).

 

*Make 5 chs and make a sl st in the same stitch as the previous sl st* rep. 2 times to have 4 petals in total. The last sl st will be with the previous colour yarn.

 

 

Work 1 sc in each ch of the stem (4 in total). Work 1 sc in the sc from the base (stem). Work 2 sc (1 sc in 1 st from the base). Work 1 sc and let’s make the 2nd flower!

 

Cut the red yarn. Make 4 chs and introduce the red colour with a ch (it will be a 5th ch). Make a sl st. Make 3 chs and a sl st. *Make 5 chs and a sl st* rep. 2 times to have 4 petals in total. The last sl st will be with the green colour yarn.

 

Work 1 sc in each ch of the stem (4 in total). Work 1 sc in the sc from the base (stem).

 

 

Make 3 chs and repeat the flower.

 

 

Use the crochet needle to hide the red yarn from the flowers – and the flower border is ready!
