Cozy Gingham Crochet Blankets

Comfy and Cozy Gingham Crochet Blanket Ideas

Gingham crochet blankets are absolutely gorgeous and worth every minute spend on crocheting them. Originally, gingham is a kind of woven fabric. It’s traditionally made with two shades of yarn (in contrasting colors), that create a gorgeous checkered pattern. It’s very eye pleasing and unique.

Quite often gingham is mistaken with check or plaid, but it’s absolutely not the same! The most characteristic thing that makes gingham stand out from any other patterns, are three colors – light, medium and dark. They are organized in a special way, that can’t be mistaken for any other design! Take a look at examples below and search for links to free patterns under the pictures.

Every simple blanket can become a gingham plaid, because it’s all about the colors and their placement.
